Teagan's First Skating Lesson

Teagan had her first skating lesson this afternoon. She was beyond excited to go and was impatient to get out onto the ice. I did not realize what it was going to be like at all. She couldn't stand on her skates as her feet were in constant motion. I had to hold her up which wasn't easy as I had not been on skates for fourteen years and did not feel very steady myself. Teagan was happy to lay on the ice and just feel it. She was just thrilled to be on the ice. She did listen and try to follow the instructor but she moved a little too fast as Teagan needed to learn to stand before she could learn to fall and get back up again. The instructor was excellent and came to help us a couple of times. She gave Teagan a pylon to hold. The excitement took over the focus at times but by the end Teagan could stand and we chalked that up as a great victory. She has the fundamentals of getting up to standing and she did try several times but never quite made it. Not once did she cry or complain she just enjoyed it. We will go to public skating with Daddy a few times before our next lesson to get our ice legs going, both Teagan's and mine.
