Anniversaries

Yesterday was Vaun and my 16th wedding anniversary. My mom and dad came out to visit us and celebrate. Our anniversary is also their anniversary. Mom and Dad celebrated their 44th anniversary with us. We went for a picnic lunch to lake Minnewanka. A beautiful mountain lake with a picnic area. Teagan had fun exploring the shoreline and throwing rocks into the water. Being a mountain lake the water is icy cold. After our picnic we went into Banff and did a little shopping at the Rock and Gem shop and Teagan spent some money at the candy store on a variety of salt water taffy. Then we went in the gondola up Sulphur mountain. It was cool at the top but we got warmed up as we walked across the boardwalk to the lookout. The mosquitoes were plentiful if you stood still. There were lots of little chipmunks running around looking for the tourists to share a snack. We saw a lot of people hiking up and down and not taking the gondola. Before we left the parking lot we saw an elk grazing by the first tower of the gondola. We were cringing at the tourists getting within arms length of the elk. Teagan said "Don't the know they are going to get bucked!" It was a great day in the mountains! (sorry the photos are out of order, blogger issues)
