Riding Lesson

Sunday morning we went back to Heritage Ranch for Teagan's first riding lesson. Holly taught Teagan about the part of the horse and how to put on the halter and lead rope. Then she taught Teagan how to lead the horse with the halter. Teagan looked very proud leading the horse around the corral and saying "whoa" to get him to stop. After a few trips around they put that horse into the barn and got out Bailey the horse Teagan had ridden on the trail ride.
Holly showed Teagan how to put on the bridle and put the bit in the horses mouth. Then it was time to saddle up. I couldn't hear much of what Holly told Teagan after that but Teagan listened very closely, asked questions when she wasn't sure and tried her best to do what was asked of her. I think she did very well controlling her horse but then again I think the horse has been well trained to follow directions. We will have to look for a place closer to Calgary for more lessons. Teagan is now saving up her money to buy a horse. If she only knew what that all entails. I think taking her riding once in a while might be good enough for now.
