Wow!! I can't believe it is January 1st today, where did the time go. We had a busy holiday in Saskatchewan. Grandma and Grandpa kept us busy and well fed. Teagan enjoyed spending time with her cousins Kirby, Blair and Erinn.
We celebrated Grandma's birthday on December 23rd (a few days late). I brought the icing roses in my suitcase from Calgary.
On Christmas Eve the kids decorated a gingerbread house. Each of the kids had a part to decorate but Teagan just wanted to eat the wall so we gave her a cookie to chew on. She wanted icing on her cookie but as you can see she just kept licking it off and asking for more icing. The cookie got soggy but was never eaten. The kids enjoyed playing outside in the snow and in Grandpa's snow house. Uncle Leo, Aunt Kathy and Kara stopped in for a visit. We made Chinese food for the evening feast and then we opened presents by one of the eight Christmas trees.
On Christmas Day we opened our stocking gifts from Santa. After our huge turkey feast we went out for a walk around Codette. The bigger kids were enjoying throwing the smaller kids in the snow banks. Teagan enjoyed riding in her new Grandpa made sled but had her turn at walking too.
On Boxing Day Uncle Joe and Aunt Lorraine came to visit with cousin Becky. We insisted that it was left over day because the food had over flowed onto the step in the garage as the fridges and deep freeze were all full. Mom rearranged the left over turkey into some soup to go with the sandwiches for supper.
December 27th we woke up early and headed into town for family pictures. this is mom's birthday gift from us kids. Then when we got home we made pizzas from left over turkey and ham. My long lost Uncle Tom came to visit as Jeff, Carolyn and the kids were leaving for home. Uncle Tom stayed over night so we had a good visit. Auntie Ella came out ot visit too.
December 28th mom made a big brunch then Uncle Tom headed for home. We went to town in the afternoon to do some shopping. Teagan had a long nap and slept the whole time we were gone. Found some good deals on clothes at Betty's and movies at Extra Foods. We had a relaxing evening and watched Hitch.
December 29th Vaun took his refresher in CPR. Teagan was quite interested in the whole process and even tried to do mouth to mouth and chest compressions. Ella came out to visit and then after Teagan's nap we went out to visit the Rushmers. Teagan was quite happy to the see their dog but he didn't really care too much for her. A handful of smarties keep her going to a while.
December 30th we packed up all our stuff and headed for Saskatoon. We stopped in Humboldt to visit my Grandma, Auntie Sylvia, Uncle Ernie and Uncle David. Sylvia made a great lunch for us and we visited until Teagan's nap time. Then we drove to Saskatoon to Tom and Marion's. They had a wonderful meal prepared for us. Mom and Dad headed back to Codette after supper and we got settled for the night.
December 31st Tom made a terrific brunch and then took us to the airport. Teagan had fun going up and down the escalator. She first went down the stairs then up the escalator a few time then she discover there was an escalator going down too. Then mommy and daddy had to swap places for a few rides then back to mommy's turn again. It kept her occupied while we waited of our plane. We arrived at the airport where Darren was waiting to pick us up. Teagan was so happy to be home.
