Week in Review

Another week has flown by. My last day of summer holidays is tomorrow. Teagan and I are hanging out together. She spent a lot of time at the day home last week and was doing well being without mommy. On Friday she didn't want to come home, she even waved good-bye to me a few times. I took this as a good sign. Mahwash said Teagan was feeling more comfortable as she was opening the cupboards and throwing things out on to the floor much like she does at home.
Teagan's birthmother Dawn spent the day with us on Tuesday. We had a great visit. It is nice to know that she is closer now and that we will see her a little more often now. Dawn was so amazed at how big Teagan is and loved her babbling and her desire to entertain us. Needless to say our visit consisted mostly of talking about Teagan, looking at pictures of Teagan and playing with Teagan. Time always flies by when Dawn visits, we hope to see her again soon when she has settled into her new routine.
On Thursday Teagan and I went to the mall. Nana sent some money for Teagan to spend so we went shopping for new pants and came home with some new hats. The clothes are just too adorable but I restrained myself. I can't wait to hit the outlet mall in Las Vegas the end of September. They even have a Children's Place outlet store.
Teagan started using the sign for Thank-you this week. It is very similar to blowing a kiss, which is a nice way to say thank-you. She is still climbing this week and can get up on her horse quite easily but mommy has a heart attack if she is not standing close enough to catch her. Teagan had her first juice box. I failed to look past the 100% real juice label to the one that said contains 23g of sugar. Teagan was a little wired and spent an extra hour or so awake before bed time. Of course daddy was at lacrosse and missed out on all the fun of mommy chasing Teagan around the kitchen trying to wear off some of her energy. No more juice boxes before bed.
We decided to make Sundays family days so we started off this Sunday the right way. We had a light breakfast and went to Walmart to buy Teagan a car seat for daddy's car. When we got home Vaun BBQ brunch, pancakes, turkey bacon and eggs. We ate out on the deck and marveled that there was absolutely no one else out on their deck enjoying the beautiful morning. Then for supper we ate later as Vaun BBQ ribs. Very delicious. Teagan ate two suppers one around our usual supper time and then she ate a ton of corn when the ribs were ready. Takes after her Grandpa Laurence I guess.
I am back to work on Tuesday so the blogging may slow down a bit. This should give Vaun a break as he is trying to keep up with me and my blog.
